Zimbabwe’s confirmed coronavirus cases now at 203

ZIMBABWE recorded 26 cases of the coronavirus on the 1st of June alone, taking the cumulative number of cases to 203, according to the latest update by the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

“As at 01 June 2020, Zimbabwe and 203 confirmed cases, including 29 recoveries and four (4) deaths,” said the Health Ministry.

Of the 26 new cases, 22 are returnees from South Africa who are all in isolation, while three are returning citizens from Botswana who are also all in isolation.

The Ministry said a further case of the coronavirus is a local transmission who is a contact of a known case of the Covid-19 disease.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases in ManicalandProvince has been corrected to a cumulative total of 8 after there was a double count of a case which had seen the total being reported as nine yesterday.

Since the first case was reported in Zimbabwe on the 20th March, four people have died while 29 have since recovered. That means the number of active cases of Covid-19 is now 170.
