QUARANTINED COVID 19 RETURNEE CRIES FOR HELP

I am one of the returning residents who came from South Africa. I arrived in Zimbabwe on Friday the 17th of July. I got tested for Covid 19 at Beitbridge and was found negative.

We were then departed from Beitbridge and taken to Allan Wilson Boys High school here in Harare. When we arrived we were told that we will be tested again for Covid 19 after 8 days and will get our results after 2-4days.

But today its our 12th day we haven’t been tested yet, we were supposed to get tested yesterday as promised but we were told that the health workers don’t have adequate PPE’s uniform to use when testing us and also told us that the doctors are on strike.

At this point we are not certain as to when we will ever get tested. At the same center there is a group of ladies who have been waiting for the same results for more than 3 weeks and still nothing has come yet.

Our main concern is that we no longer know how long we are going to be kept here in quarantine whilst other centers such as PE and in Ruwa were tested and told to go home.

But here they are keeping us as prisoners and won’t let us go home and just self isolate ourselves since the doctors are on strike and the healthworkers don’t have enough uniforms.

I just thought maybe you would be able to share this and get word out how they are treating us here at Allan Wilson School. And maybe get someone to help.

From an anonymous tipper.
