Mnangagwa’s Zanu PF party takes early lead in Zimbabwe’s historic election

Zanu PF has established an early lead, winning six of the seven National Assembly seats, whose results have been announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).

Zanu PF won in Hwedza South [Tinoda Machakaire], Masvingo South [Cloudious Maronge], Masvingo West [Chadzamira Ezra], Chiredzi East [Denford Masiya], Marondera West [Sipiwe Mukunyaidze Elizabeth], and Mudzi North [Milton Kachepa], while Gwanda Central went the MDC Alliance’s Dube Patrick .

Collation of results is underway and ZEC Chairperson, Justice Priscilla Chigumba said they will be announcing the results as they come.
