ZERA Announces Fuel Price INCREASE

The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has approved an increase in the price of fuels and announced the new prices for petrol and diesel.

The price of Blend Petrol has gone up with immediate effect from $5.26 per litre to $6.10 per litre while the price of diesel has gone up from $5.07 per litre to $5.84 per litre.   Below is part of the communication from ZERA.

The price increase comes a few days after Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said that both the prices of fuel and electricity should go up because they are too low.

Some service stations had already jumped the gun and hiked the price of fuel by more than 100 per cent, with some charging as high as ZWL$12 per litre.
