ONE of Zimbabwe’s finest chanters, Winky D, will perform at the African Love Affair Concert set to be held at the Sun Arena, Time Square in Pretoria, South Africa in April.
Ninja president, as Winky D is popularly known by his hordes of fans, will be the headline act among other musicians from all over Africa, who are expected to be party to the certainly block-buster show.
This becomes the Gaffa’s first visit to the 10 000 capacity Time Square venue in two years.
The venue has previously hosted an array of WWE superstars, National Basketball Association games and Anthony Hamilton last year.
Promoter of the show Munya Jeranyama, better known as Munya Touch in showbiz circles, said 10 percent of the proceeds will go towards helping any four African entrepreneurs residing in South Africa.
The promoters want two of the beneficiaries to be from Zimbabwe.
Munya Touch said the theme of the show was about the promotion of African one love and beauty amid the diversity in culture and language.
“This becomes the first of the African Love Affair concert, an event which we are going to hold annually. We want to make a difference in peoples’ lives through events, which normally is not the norm in the African musical arena, said the youthful promoter.
“We have a number of Zimbabweans and other African nationals as well, living in South Africa and are operating small businesses. Quite a number of them are struggling to keep those enterprises afloat as a result of capital inflow shortages”.
“So in as much as we seek to provide entertainment of an African flavour, we also want assist fellow African brothers in distress
“Tickets for The African Love Affair Concert are already on Compu-ticket going for R150 General first phase, R350 Golden Circle first phase, R200 General 2nd phase R400 Golden Circle 2nd phase,” said Munya Touch.
