Well-known pastor in hot soup after raping congregant at NetOne Building

VICTORY Church International pastor, Paul Mwamba, yesterday appeared in court charged with rape.

Mwamba was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Rumbidzai Mugwagwa.

The State opposed bail and the matter was remanded to February 8.

It is alleged that on January 26 this year around 11pm, Mwamba picked up the complainant at Michael Gelfund Clinic after an earlier appointment and took her to his church offices at NetOne Building.

Whilst in the church offices, Mwamba on the first count raped the victim whilst she was lying on the couch.

On the second count, she was sexually assaulted lying on the floor.

After the rape, Mwamba dropped the victim near her home.

When she arrived at her place of residence, she narrated what had happened to her friends.

A police report was lodged at Harare Central Police Station leading to Mwamba’s arrest.

A search was conducted at Victory Church International and a jelly container was recovered which the complainant alleges the accused used to apply on his manhood.

It is set to be used in court as evidence.
