Flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo, Sir Wicknell to his legion of admirers, has come to the rescue of a Gwanda Man who is suffering from cancer.

24-year-old Tamson Phiri who is suffering from a rare form of cancer diagnosed as invasive squamous cell carcinoma needs RTGS$16 000 for the surgery and subsequent facial reconstruction.

After seeing Phiri’s plight on social media, the flamboyant businessman quickly tracked down Phiri’s doctor and transferred the full sum required for the surgery.

Sharing the information on social media, Chivayo tweeted: Thank you for all the tweets. Gwanda town is my second home, my work, my passion and my future so I had to also chip in. His CABS and POSB accounts could not accept the payment so I located his Doctor. Wishing Mr Phiri a successful operation and may God bless him.
