The family of the late Mbira maestro, Sekuru David Tafaneyi Gweshe has appealed for well-wishers to chip in with contributions to help them bury the late musician who died over the weekend.
Sekuru Gweshe, who is survived by 2 wives and 23 children died on Sunday after succumbing to prostate cancer.
He was 79.
Sekuru Gweshe’s sister Martha Gweshe told, H-Metro, “We seriously need help from whoever can assist us since my brother had no funeral policy.
“Considering the economic challenges we are facing in the country, we need serious help to ensure that my brother is given a decent send-off in his rural home, Gweshe Village.”
Sekuru Gweshe’s younger widow, Fungai added: “We are in a difficult position since our husband had no funeral policy. Those who are willing to contribute towards his funeral can do so via EcoCash number 0775 341 590 registered in Fungai Tauzen’s name.
“As you can see, there is nothing here and we desperately need help.”
