Opposition Youths Threaten END GAME Strategy Against ED

Opposition youths under the banner of National Election Reform Agenda (NERA) have threatened to engage in an end game strategy that will delegitimize the President Emmerson Mnangagwa administration should the Constitutional Court rule against MDC Alliance’s presidential election results challenge.

Addressing a press conference in Harare today, NERA Youth Forum spokesperson Lovemore Chinoputsa said they are hoping the MDC Alliance Constitutional Court challenge against presidential election results will be in favour of Nelson Chamisa, failure they will mobilize young people to rescue the country from political and legitimacy crisis by any means possible.

“We pray that the above mentioned demands be met with no delay so that we rescue Zimbabwe out of this political and legitimacy crisis that we always seem to find ourselves in.

“Failure to achieve this the NYF will mobilize the young people of this country to take it upon themselves to rescue this country from political, economic and legitimacy crisis by any means possible, We will be implementing the our END GAME strategy which intends to ensure that we do not slide back into suppression of people’s basic rights,” said Chinoputsa.Among their demands, NERA Youths Forum called on the Constitutional Court to ensure Zimbabwe has a legitimate government with both input and output legitimacy in addition to reversing what they said is the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s intentional skewed errors and incompetence.

Asked if they will hold protests against government, Chinoputsa could neither deny nor confirm but said it is one of their strategies to try to take away legitimacy from Mnangagwa.

The Constitutional Court will tomorrow preside over the MDC Alliance’s petition challenging Mnangagwa’s presidential election victory.
