MDC leader Nelson Chamisa slipped out of the country last week for South Africa “to attend urgent business”, according to the youthful opposition leader.
It turned out Chamisa had a meeting and a tea moment with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, whom Chamisa has described as “my distinguished brother and fountain of wisdom…”
That did not go down well with the majority of his followers on Twitter who warned him to be wary of “teas from liberation era comrades”.
Chamisa said: “A few days ago I had a fruitful meeting in Pretoria with my distinguished brother & fountain of wisdom, the President of the Republic of South Africa, His Excellency @CyrilRamaphosa on a wide range of urgent & important issues regarding the wellbeing of the people of Zimbabwe.“
Below are some of the responses expressing reservations about the tea:
Dorcas Mutazu: Whatever you do, DO NOT DRINK tea 😔

However, others felt Chamisa was on the right track by engaging regional leaders on the situaion in Zimbabwe.
Neither Chamisa nor the South African presidency has revealed the nature of the Pretoria discussions.
