First, the doing their practical duty well, then that they be graceful and pleasing in doing it.” Was quite memorable as Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe Ltd conducted a Dry Mortars Product Training at the Chitungwiza Publicity Association. The event drew nearly fifty artisans and semi-skilled plumbers, bricklayers, carpenters, brick moulders and contractors drawn from Chitungwiza Municipal and companies from Chitungwiza. Ms Perseverance Moyana the Territory Manager for Lafarge, put it clear that magnificent constructions are as a result of usages of quality building materials and as such Lafarge has taken forward-thinking steps to make adequate supplies of cement, tile adhesives, paints, masonry, sands and bricks to construction companies and individuals in order to come up with resilient buildings.
The majority of the artisans expressed great satisfaction with Lafarge Cement products and requested for involvement in the marketing and distribution of their products.
In answer to the request, Ms Perseverance Moyana said an example of an entrepreneurial project availed to trusted customers and credible contractors by Lafarge is the “Ukavaka neLarfarge Wavaka” which to date has yielded desirable results. Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe Ltd products are tailor made to suit various construction needs and as such building contractors are advised to read instructions on each product supplied by Lafarge. Customers are discounted for bulk purchases. She Said.
Ms Kudzanayi Makanyanga, the Production Coordinator for Lafarge said that Ceramic, Tile coat- Porcelain- Quick drying, Grout adhesives and Impermo are all products that are meant to give lasting impressions to building constructions.
As a customer care initiative, Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe Ltd recommended clients to seek best advice on product usages from Lafarge experts and would be willing to handle customer concerns. She said. Ms Makayanga advised the attendees on how to prepare, mix and use Lafarge products in light of technical details.
Mr. Dzumbunu a Lecturer at Chitungwiza Vocational Centre advised the various workers in the construction industries to enrol with learning institutions in order to upgrade their skills and remaining relevant to the industry.
Prior to the presentations, Mr. Lexy Mrewa, the Chitungwiza Publicity Association Director said that the association is works hand in hand with Chitungwiza Town Council and its mandate is to market Chitungwiza as the best place to carry out business.
Chitungwiza has so far groomed entrepreneurs who now trade their products such as peanut butter, soap, drinks and snacks across the nation of Zimbabwe and are aiming for international markets, he said.
Mr. Mrewa said journalistic fair comments shall help in spearheading the Chitungwiza is Open for Business Mantra.
