CONTEMPORARY musician Jah Prayzah has faced a backlash on social media after expressing his condolences following the death of Impala Car Rental CEO Thompson Dondo on Saturday. Jah Prayzah posted on his timeline:
The entire industry has lost a great today. A selfless man who helped just for the sake of helping without wanting anything in return.
Makasimudzira vakawanda Chikonamombe. I cannot thank you enough, sadly you are no longer with us.
May God be with your family in this tough time and May your dear soul rest in peace.
Here are some of the negative comments below the musician’s condolence message posted on Facebook:
Laura Zivorinashe Chapungu: Jah Prayzah Zanu pf will be your downfall. You have God-given talent but u choosing to throw it away.
You cannot be blind to the suffering of millions of Zimbabwe but here u are rubbing salt to the wound. I am sure u can go and pay your condolences to the family in private rather than on Facebook.
Your publicist is not doing right by u they are not giving u proper advice. A lot have perished because of Zanu u still young wake up.
Nyasha Jengwa: Since the post does not concern me, I will sincerely send my condolences to the family of Goliath. It is not easy to lose such a strong man through brutal use of a piece of stone by David. May his soul continue to rest in peace. #notobrutaluseofstones
Chris Moyo: We will never forget. I will reserve my RIP for someone who deserves it. This guy was an enabler for so many tears and broken souls only God knows how many.
Jabsy Chimukuyu: Describing a devil as humble is the highest level of hypocrisy and stupidity, The souls of the people this devil has killed/disappeared over the years must haunt your devil worshipping soul young man.
Abel Myk Parirenyatwa: Stay focused on your career, you know that this guy was at the centre of a storm recently, memories are still fresh and we as citizens needed him to tell us what was going on, your fan base is large and from a diverse background, not everything that happens should be shared with the public , we love you because of music, not all this nonsense.
Simoni Langa: I was crying while reading this and my Landlady came over to see what is making me cry. Guess what, the post made her cry as well. Now she has promised that I won’t pay this year’s rent.
