From ‘Paraffin’ Drama Actress To ZRP Top BOSS….Charity Charamba Speaks Out

After a clip of her acting in the acclaimed Paraffin drama went viral, the police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner, Charity Charamba has finally broken her silence on her role in the series.

In an interview with H-metro, Charamba stated that she has since received negative and positive responses on social media after becoming talk of the town.

“The person who says it can not be done should not interrupt the person who is doing it.

“To be honest with you, acting was one of my hobbies and during my time at school, I was in drama groups.

“I was not after money and I am the one who approached Agnes Gwatira (Paraffin writer) who called me for auditions and I succeeded.

“I started acting dramas when I was still at Chisipite High School after attending my primary education at Makumbe in Domboshava.”

She went on to say that during her acting days she was a patrol officer attached to investigations department at Harare Central Police station.

Further expressing her love for acting, Charamba said that she did not only act in the Paraffin drama but in four other dramas as well, which include Pfuma yeNhaka.

Charamba also got a chance to talk about a rumor that she had bleached her skin, but in response she said that her late father was light in complexion.

Snr Asst-Comm who took over from Wayne Bvudzijena said she rose through the ranks to be at her current position dismissing speculations that she rose after dating senior officials.

“It is pathetic to learn that people are quick to judge especially those who spend most of their time on social media to discourage people who are doing something to earn a living.

Let people know that there is only one way to avoid criticism, say nothing, do nothing and be nothing.

Women are forever discouraged and looked down upon a if men are the one who can do best, but as for me I worked hard and got promoted.”
