Chombo faces more corruption charges

Former Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Ignatius Chombo faces a 12 year jail time for corruption and abuse of office charges.

It is alleged that the former Zanu PF bigwig took multiple stands which were developed using funds for beneficiaries in the Nehanda Housing Cooperative in Dzivarasekwa.

The land scam was exposed by the Commission of Inquiry which is investigating the sale of state land in and around urban areas since 2005.

Members of the cooperative told the Land Commision that the former minister connived with the former executive of the Nehanda Housing Cooperative and took multiple stands which were developed using the beneficiaries funds.
