A light aircraft has crashed at the Majereje Hills, near Renco Mine early today.   The cause of the accident is yet to be established but reports indicate that there were three fatalities.

All three people are said to have died on the crash.

The plane, a Cessna-182, is registered to Executive Air Pvt Ltd of Harare.

The bodies at the scene have been severely mangled making it hard for the authorities to identify them. However, the police recovered a Finnish identity card, Visa financial services card and a passport.

The month of November has been particularly bad for Zimbabwe as the country has been plagued with road accidents, fires as well as train derailments.  Close to a hundred people have lost their lives in traffic-related accidents alone.

Some elements have blamed the opposition MDC for the fires while former cabinet minister Jonathan Moyo has blamed President Emmerson Mnangagwa saying that the accidents were caused by the rituals he conducted when he was in Guinea Conakry.
